So, today I logged on to Instagram (what’s new?) only to be amazed by one particular image in my newsfeed. It was posted by Mr. Happy man himself, Pharrell Williams. A smooth chocolate-y aka ‘a sweet darkie’ (I’m still Trini to the core) posed up against a raging red background, and she was staring at me. I knew her! #NuffExcitement Her name is Khadija Nicholas. She’s beautiful, a phenomenal dancer and she’s Trini. Sweet!
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Khadija when she held the title of Miss Trinidad & Tobago New York. She was regal then as she is now. Since then, she has graced stages with notable entertainers, notably Bajan Badgal Rihanna, and now Pharrell. Clearly, Khadija’s star is on the rise and I’m so here for it!
