Khadija Nicholas On The Cover of Pharrell Williams’ Marilyn Monroe Single

So, today I logged on to Instagram (what’s new?) only to be amazed by one particular image in my newsfeed. It was posted by Mr. Happy man himself, Pharrell Williams. A smooth chocolate-y aka ‘a sweet darkie’ (I’m still Trini to the core) posed up against a raging red background, and she was staring at me. I knew her! #NuffExcitement Her name is Khadija Nicholas. She’s beautiful, a phenomenal dancer and she’s Trini. Sweet!

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Khadija when she held the title of Miss Trinidad & Tobago New York. She was regal then as she is now. Since then, she has graced stages with notable entertainers, notably Bajan Badgal Rihanna, and now Pharrell. Clearly, Khadija’s star is on the rise and I’m so here for it! Peep the vid for the new Marilyn Monroe single below where ‘Dij’ headlines the slew of #TeamRed Marilyns.

The overall support for this talented Trinbagonian is super strong. Do your thing! We all are extremely proud of you.

Vogue Italia January 2014 The Collections by Steven Meisel

Vogue Italia is celebrating the Spring/Summer 2014 collections through a film by photographer Steven Meisel when shooting the cover of the magazine’s January 2014 issue.

Notably, the shoot features fashions from Louis Vuitton’s black feathered items to Prada’s creative and colorful clothing. It’s concept is such a juxtaposition of the grit shown by the factory workers as opposed the styling of the models laced in the luxurious Spring/Summer 2014 collections. Of course I would be smitten by the hand-lettering of “The Collections” shown during the beginning clip. Loved it! Overall, it’s all pretty descent. What do you think?
