Vibrant and colorful prints served with a side of Caribbean sass and just a tinge of urban edge. This was the Carnival of Colour Spring Summer 2013 collection as presented by Season 9 Project Runway winner, Anya Ayoung Chee. As a
stan fan of the designer’s work, I was extremely excited to see what her New York Fashion Week debut would look like. Anya stayed true to her aesthetic with what I would like to refer to as the triple S — Simple, Sexy, Sophisticated. It is a tried and true combination that makes any spring to summer wardrobe remarkably spectacular.

Throughout the day, Anya offered behind the scene snapshots of what was to come as models got prepped and primed for showtime.

I am extremely proud of the positive strides that Anya continues to make in the world of fashion. Certainly, she is a trailblazer paving the way and showing that the fashion sensibility from the aspect of a Caribbean designer should not be ignored. Her progress inspires me and an entire region. #TeamCaribbean #TrinidadAndTobagoFashion

So, what do you think of Anya’s collection?
PS. I will e-snatch that white dress off her with ninja quickness. Seriously, I want it.
